annual site energy demand (MWh)
The energy profile of the building can be calculated based on heating and cooling profiles against local weather data and dynamic building heat loss models. On-site renewable generation should also be considered where possible.

the goal of TM54 The goal of TM54 is to provide a more comprehensive operational energy analysis than Part L, which only accounts for regulated energy.TM54 goes further by including unregulated loads such as external lighting, server rooms, catering equipment, and other specialised electrical systems, capturing as much additional energy as possible. The energy usage from as many loads in the design should be considered, and these should match occupancy and how the building will be used. Accurately evaluating a building’s operational energy use beyond the standard Part L calculation is an important step in the design process. It enables clients to better understand future energy costs, identify major energy demands early on, and highlight opportunities for efficiency improvements while changes can still be easily integrated into the design.
