Fuel Filling Stations

sustainable design solutions Ingleton Wood work in collaboration with clients to continuously improve the environmental performance of Fuel Filling Stations by deploying existing and innovative technologies, such as recycled and sustainably-sourced materials, zero-carbon power and recycled water. timber kiosk We secured industry approval for the first full timber kiosk solution. The kiosk structure is cross-laminated timber (CLT) panel construction which provides a renewable, sustainable alternative to steel. solar canopy We developed the first solar FFS canopy in collaboration with Sainsbury’s. PV cells were installed within the steel structure of the forecourt canopy, supplying electricity to the station and reducing energy consumption from the grid. eco fuel filling station We have combined these strategies with other sustainable solutions to achieve a holistic response for our Eco- Fuel Filling Station concept. Our target was to reduce energy use and water consumption to achieve a zero- carbon station using multiple solutions, including: • Photo-voltaic cells; supply power to the FFS • Rainwater harvesting; for use in WC and car wash facilities • Sun-tubes; to remove artificial lighting need • LED lights, linked to intelligent light monitoring • Heat exchangers to recover waste heat and reduce energy demand
